THANKS A MILLION ahhhh. i'm going down tml, anyone wants to join?

Listen up!! (read up)

FIRST! PICS OF MILO,PICS OF THE KITTENS ...are FOUND AT PICASA a7K1!!! (It is LINKED to this blog)

SECOND... lets clear sum misconception
-No one is forcing Anyone to contribute to continue to BUY time for Milo.(we understand that some are not interested in this or jus do not hav the $$)
-Milo will not be Moving anywhere...she will be boarding at M&M thats why SOME of us are paying the $250/mth
-Mr Cohen hoped that our class would take her in for the time being until we find owners, because we hav an advantage being a class the boarding fees shouldnt be so heavy if it was distributed
-Those who are INTERESTED to help will find permanent adopters for Milo within these 4 months (MAXIMUM) then we hav no choice but to put her at SPCA because of financial difficulties, but we are BUYING her 4 months of time...that is the plan so far

SOME details (Mr Cohen is not sure, he'll check again tmr but is roughly wat he rmbr)

Name:Milo
Sex: Female
Age: 10 months approx
Breed:Mutt
Colour: Black and brown
Size: medium
Sterilized: no (should cost close to $200)
Cost to adopt her: NOTHING
Vaccinations: she was rescued therefor it is quite unknown however, they may hav records of latest vacination
History: unknown

Finally, pls do not feel as though im forcing this on you guys or we are forcing it on u, we are not... This is jus to inform those that mayb interested to help out thats all... :D so chill everyone..no need to get all stressed n upset, no blaming or fighting, lets jus do our best ok? thanks for listening so far... tnx for ur attention and for helping out so far everyon..(specially the active listening)

jus some comments

hey guys I know everyone's passionate abt animals but do consider that fostering/sponsoring animals need long term commitment and financial responsibilites . We should ask ourselves whether it's sustainable as we are all still students and not working adults where we have monthly incomes.

Moreover, moving from place to place every few days or weeks puts great anxiety on the animal as well. The animal may not be able to adapt to the contant change of environment and may end up not eating, hence affecting its general well being.

As I have been volunterring at spca for two years now, I would like to correct some misconceptions you may have on spca. it tries to save every animal to the best of its effort but the sheer numbers of unwanted animals is not helping the situation. it keeps animals which are in good health and possess good temperment as long as possible till they are adopted. Most importantly, there are vets in spca who will assess the animals' health and does not put animals to sleep unnecessarily but only when being forced to, i.e. due to illness, old age or some contagious disease.

I would think the onus is on Mr Cohen to decide how best to deal with the unwanted animals at M&Ms as we cannot possibly be adopting each and every animal which comes across to us as being pitiful.

We should, as a class, consider educating the public that having a pet is a long term commitment - as only through responsible pet ownership can the increasing numbers of unwanted pets in Singapore be effectively reduced.

current situation

Mr Cohen jus called in,
Milo hasnt been adopted nor has there been ANY kind of person approaching to adopt...so..it has been set...MILo will be sent to SPCA tmr... but i told him that some of us in class will be willing to bear the burden for a few months... Literally BUY time for Milo... he said it would cost us $250/month. that would be $8/month for each of us = each day $0.2688172 PROVIDED that EVERYONE in the class is willin to pay... that means 250 divided by 31 of us la..then its around 2 cents per day :D can anot class?? CAN?pls REPLY i cant ASSUME u all will be paying or else u come and scold me then how...

p.s: MR cohen has found someone interested in adopted the kitties too...i will contact them when he gives me the contact... pls everyone, find someone willing to adopt...and pass me the contact no. i will call them and check em out abit on the phone befor askin our classmates to go interrogate them...hope its fine wit u all

active listening in practice =)

hey yall
i think that if we can still foster milo at M&M its a good idea
after all how long can fiona keep milo
and in either situation we still have to look for a home asap
so i think if it is possible we should sponsor milo to be put up at M&M
there are thirty plus of us in the class say every one forks out $5 a month that would give us abt $150 odd lets say
and i might give us more time that we need to get milo a home otherwise what if half way milo is staying at fiona's house and her dad thinks that enough is enough , than we're gonna have to parent milo at everyone's house for a day or two than change again just like what we did for the kittens ? i think transfering milo is gonna be way tougher than the kittens for sure
thus i think the best option now is to support milo for now and buy that extra time we need
what do the rest in the class think ?
if there are any other ideas you guys come up with post them here
lets hope we're not too late by now

Recent news

Ok, here is the news of CHIP&DALE the ones being fostered by my sis's fren... the other 2 r fostered by Fifa's religious leader....
C&D are fine and dandy but the foster is gettin worn out, u'll understand if u took the kitten home for one day, they cry round the clock and at nite also need to be feed, so do not blame the fosterer if they cannot tahan after 1 week, furthermore she is a student. This is a heavy responsibility both mentally and physically so we need to find homes for them immediatly!!!Sometimes when her whole family needs to go out and there is no one to take care of the kitten, she calls the pet-sitter which costs her $55/day , u hav to understand that she is goin all the way out to help n did not ask me for the funds...so pls ppl... QUICK find homes.... so far (including Fiona's) we've found 4 potential adopters...however all of them are only willing to take them in at the age where they r weaned off milk (less troublesome) .............ppl, we need ur HELP!!! if u read all these mssg's we've posted up, pls respond (ACTIve ListeNING!!) it helps to encourage us u knoe?? say smt...its quite scary that in this blog no one replies...

Regarding MILO,
So far i've not heard from Mr Cohen wat is the situation goin to be like, hav they found any fosterer's?? im not sure... but i knoe that Dogs are much harder to be adopted out so i'd like the class to help. It may sound selfish that we ask the whole class since each individual may like different dogs but Milo's life is at risk she is only 10months old...(sumwher there) she has a long way to go...pls reach out to all ur frends, urge ppl to adopt.... thanks all.. :) really appreciate it..

p.s: It would be waaaay cheaper if Fiona takes it home, cos it wun cost $200 a month (i tot its $400) but the prob would be that we need to find a home for her ASAP if Fiona takes her in..actually either way whether she stays at M&M she needs to be adopted asap too.....

hi people!

im supposed to be sleeping but yes, i want to say this before i go to sleep.

Bet all of you know about Milo's situation now. But i just feel there's something that can be done. I know all of us must be thinking that we can't really do much about this & there's very much a limit to the things we can do sometimes, but it won't hurt trying ways out eh? At least if things don't turn out okay, we still know that at the very least we've give in our best.

I was talking to fiona on the phone just now, & in case some of you don't know, she wanted to take in Milo at first but she din get to see her. But the problem now is that if she really take Milo in, she'll need us to be on a constant lookout for potential adopters to adopt Milo because her dad will only be alright with fostering the dog for a period of time. We don't get to find parents who are that willing to go all the way right? furthermore, at such a short notice. But it'll only be fair for Fiona if everyone's willing to put in effort to find home for Milo. & not forget bout the whole thing after awhile, because then Fiona's dad won't be able to agree with the fostering & there's nothing Fiona can say.

Or if not, i don't know if we're able to sponser for Milo. As a whole class. Which will take up like 6+ of our pocket money each month. Do you guys mind forking out for her?

I don't know whether this will be seen by the whole class in time. But can the words spread around before it's too late?

Respond okay. please..

Alot of thanks,
ther.
